Large Southern California mega-dairies are relocating to the Fresno area and the Fresno Bee reports that 50,000 more cattle are planned for Fresno County in the
near future,[1] in addition to the 400,000 already here[2]. Public review of sites, permits, and standards for new mega-dairies can help protect public health while
strengthening dairies as part of our local economy.
We join parents, doctors, faith leaders and others in asking our County Board of Supervisors to set reasonable
standards for new mega-dairies to take steps that protect public health including:
*Ongoing Testing to Ensure Air and Water Quality
*Conditional Use Permits and Environmental Impact Reports
*Buffer Zones between Dairies and Sensitive Sites
*Waste Lagoon Covers and Liners
Signatories give permission for the Fresno Healthy Dairy organization to make public their support.
