The short explanation of this alert was:

The International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC, is currently selecting the company that will provide security for IMF offices. One of their choices, Wackenhut, is the current security contractor at this site. In recent weeks, multiple labor charges have been filed against the company, alleging that it has created a climate of fear at the IMF worksite by threatening, interrogating and even firing employees who support union organizing. Wackenhut's parent company states that it "and Wackenhut fully respect the rights of employees to become members of any union of their choice." However, Wackenhut employees tell us that the company continues to threaten and intimidate officers who support organizing.

Help the Wackenhut security officers by sending a message to the IMF to insist that Wackenhut reinstate these two employees and urge the company to keep its word by honoring their workers' fundamental right to join a union.
