Stop the Roll Back, Baby!

More and more people are looking for ways to do something about the new “Wal-Mart economy.” Low-wage employers like Wal-Mart are driving down pay and benefits and other companies are following suit -- destroying the good jobs with health and retirement benefits our communities need.

Rolling back the Wal-Mart Economy. The Justice at Work Campaign -- initiated by SEIU, founder of the highly successful Justice for Janitors campaign -- gives us all a concrete way to start building a movement that can fight back.

Local Actions,Global Reach. Using the Web, Justice at Work links local activists together in national and international initiatives against abusive employers. We're building on the experience of the Dean campaign, MoveOn.org and others to bring people together to engage in creative action in their community.

Holding Corporations Accountable. The campaign calls on companies to adopt the Justice at Work Principles for responsible corporate behavior. By signing the principles, companies pledge that they and their subcontractors will provide decent wages, benefits, and working conditions, and that they will respect workers’ rights to form unions to win a voice on the job.

The Justice at Work Four-Point Plan

Give participants a voice in the campaign by using the Net to let people share ideas and help shape our strategy.

Focus our initiatives on a select group of the worst offenders , chosen so the project can build momentum and help companies set positive examples others will want to follow.

Support workers' legal rights by providing them contact information for lawyers who have the expertise and resources to challenge corporate wrongdoing.

Challenge the way Wall Street does business  by helping people learn about their retirement accounts and mutual funds and how they can affect investment policies.

We are currently building a suite of online tools to help you self‑organize and join campaigns challenging Wal-Mart and other multi‑national corporations that are destroying job quality and standards.

Stay tuned for more information about Justice at Work and how you can get involved in stopping the Wal-Martization of our economy.
